believe that for the web to remain an effective resource
for advocacy and education, users must be guaranteed
that information shared online is used in a responsible
and suitable manner.
To
protect online privacy, we have implemented the
following policy: Absolutely NO
personal information (name, email address, etc.) will be
gathered about you when you visit our website unless we
clearly request the information and you decide to share
it.
Personally Identifiable Information:
We use your personal
information to send you email, respond to questions, and
to identify supporters. Your information will be
used only for the purposes for which it was provided,
and we will not sell, rent, provide or disclose
personally identifiable information to any commercial
entities or marketing firms.
Email Lists:
If
you join or donate to HVAF will receive periodic e-mails
that are explained on the membership sign-up page. Every
e-mail communication will provide information on how to
unsubscribe from the list. You can always “opt-out” of HVAF’s online
communications to keep from receiving unwanted emails,
however we hope you will find them helpful, and we plan
to keep communication limited.
Publicly Sharing Your Stories:
We
often receive information from website visitors who have
been victims of flooding, are having issues with
buy-outs, or have concerns about the issues.
In certain instances, we would like to publicly
share a sampling of the remarks and stories we receive
by posting them on our website. We will not, however,
publicly share ANY information we receive on the
internet without first requesting, and then receiving
the express consent of the individual correspondent.

We
reserve the right to amend this privacy policy every so
often. If we make any considerable modification in how
we make use of your individually identifiable

on our web site. We
will never use the information that you enter under this
current notice in a new fashion without offering you the

request we will provide access to the information that
we maintain about you. You can request this

can have this information corrected by e-mailing us at
